Use Teacher's Guide as Off-line Supplement to Online Course
Body Copy:
When using The Official SAT Online Course™ in a classroom setting, supplemental printed materials can come in handy. While the flexibility of the course ensures that every school can implement the program in its own unique manner, the following tip represents one way in which teachers can add depth to their in-class use of the course with printed materials from the College Board.
- Use The Official SAT Teacher’s Guide™ as a supplemental teaching tool. Topic overviews, practice activities, and student handouts help create lesson plans that fully integrate with the course. English teacher Barbara Bailey, at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School in Cambridge, Maryland, has made The Official SAT Teacher’s Guide an integral part of her course-based test preparation class. Bailey bases her classroom lectures on the Teacher’s Guide, presents her students with the appropriate handouts, and assigns lesson quizzes from the course as homework. (You may also find the additional practice tests and essay questions in The Official SAT Study Guide™ useful.)
The Official SAT Teacher’s Guide complements the course by design: each lesson in the Teacher’s Guide refers to material in the course, providing a complementary resource for teachers and students alike. While you don’t need to use the course with the Teacher’s Guide or Study Guide, combining these resources can make all of them even more valuable.
