“It’s clear that Alexander thinks of an editor as a collaborator, not as an adversary. My readers and I are fortunate that he keeps returning to the pages of our magazine.”

As a journalist, I tackle features and profiles, columns and Q&As, obits and infographics, and everything in between. I enjoy developing ideas with editors and art directors, and I strive to deliver crisp, clean, compelling copy.

My work has appeared in publications ranging from the New York Times and the Economist to Wired and the Guardian; and I’ve contributed to magazines and newsletters published by institutions such as Caltech, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, NYU, Penn, Rice, Rockefeller, Scripps Research, Stanford, and Yale, earning accolades from the NSF and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) along the way.

As a writer who focuses on colleges and nonprofits, I also craft everything from brochures and viewbooks to case studies and press releases, helping organizations further their missions by communicating effectively with their intended audiences.

Clients have included the Associated Press, the College Board, Columbia University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the University of Illinois, and the American Association of Advertising Agencies.
